What file formats are supported?

Accepted Answer

We accept JPG, PNG, PDF (single and multi-page), and HEIC. You can also import directly from Google Drive.

How do I import bank statements?

Accepted Answer

Go to Transactions in your dashboard, click "Upload" and add a PDF bank statement. Our AI will extract and categorize every transaction automatically.

How does receipt matching work?

Accepted Answer

BookZero automatically matches your uploaded receipts with bank transactions based on date, amount, and vendor. You can also manually match them from the Matching tab.

Question 5

What counts as a credit?

Accepted Answer

One credit processes one page. An image (JPG, PNG, HEIC) is 1 credit. A multi-page PDF costs 1 credit per page, so a 5-page bank statement uses 5 credits.

Question 6

What happens if I run out of credits?

Accepted Answer

You can still view and export your existing data. To process more documents, top up credits anytime from your billing settings, upgrade to a higher tier, or wait for your monthly credits to reset at your next billing date.

Question 7

Is there a free trial for paid plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every plan starts with 7 days free and 50 credits. We take your card at signup but charge nothing until the trial ends. Billing starts on day 8, or sooner if you use all 50 credits first. Cancel any time before then and you pay nothing.

Question 8

Can I change plans anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Upgrade instantly to get more credits. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at your next billing date.

Question 9

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes! No long-term contracts. Cancel with one click from your billing settings. You'll retain access until the end of your billing period.

Question 10

How does yearly billing work?

Accepted Answer

Yearly plans save you up to 21% compared to monthly billing. You're billed once per year at the discounted rate and receive all your credits upfront.

Question 11

How does the AI extract receipt data?

Accepted Answer

Our AI, built on Google's Gemini, reads each image and extracts vendor, date, amount, tax breakdown, and payment method in seconds. Just snap a photo or upload a file.

Question 12

How does the AI categorization work?

Accepted Answer

The same model assigns an expense category to every receipt and transaction automatically, and learns from your corrections to improve accuracy over time.

Question 13

How is BookZero different from QuickBooks?
